Steven Kitshoff (born 10 February 1992) is a famous South African rugby player. He plays as a loosehead prop. This means he is one of the players in the front row of the scrum. Steven currently plays for the Stormers team. He also plays for the South Africa national team, known as the Springboks.

Steven went to Hendrik Louw Primary School and Paul Roos Gymnasium. He was part of the South Africa Under 20 team that won the 2012 IRB Junior World Championship. He also helped the Western Province team win the 2012 Currie Cup.

Playing Career Highlights

Steven Kitshoff started his professional rugby journey in 2011. He was still a teenager when he first played for the Stormers and Western Province. He quickly became a key player for both teams.

Early Successes

In 2012, Steven became a regular player for the Stormers and Western Province. He helped Western Province win the Currie Cup title that year. They had an impressive win against the Sharks in Durban. In 2013, he continued his strong performance. Western Province reached the Currie Cup final again, but lost to the Sharks.

Injuries and Comebacks

The year 2014 was tough for Steven because of an injury. He got hurt during the Super Rugby season. This injury meant he could not play in Western Province's successful Currie Cup campaign. His team won the title for the second time in three years.

Playing in France

In 2015, Steven decided to move to France. He joined a team called Bordeaux in the French Top 14 league. He played there for two seasons.

Return to South Africa

Steven came back to Cape Town in 2017. He rejoined the Stormers team. In 2021, he was chosen to be the captain of the Stormers. He led his team to win the first-ever United Rugby Championship in 2022. This was a big achievement for the team.

Recent Club Moves

Steven then joined Ulster for the 2023–24 season. After that season, he returned to the Stormers again. Recently, Steven had a neck injury during a Currie Cup match. He had surgery in November to help him recover.
