Steven Williams is an American actor who has starred in many movies and TV shows. He was born on January 7, 1949. You might know him best from his roles as Captain Adam Fuller on 21 Jump Street or as the mysterious character X on The X-Files. He also played Rufus Turner in the popular show Supernatural.

Steven Williams has been acting since 1975. Steven Williams' Early Life

Steven Williams was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up mostly in Chicago. His parents were divorced, so he spent time living with his father in Michigan, his mother in Chicago, and his grandparents in Millington, Tennessee. He went to Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago.

After high school, he studied engineering at the General Motors Institute. Before becoming an actor, he worked as a postal carrier, a salesperson, and a model. He also served in the United States Army. While in the Army, he was a boxing champion in the Middleweight Division.

Steven Williams' Acting Career

Steven Williams started his acting journey in 1975 with the movie Cooley High. He played Trooper Mount in the musical comedy The Blues Brothers in 1980. In 1985, he appeared as Lt. Jefferson Burnett in the TV drama The Equalizer.

One of his most famous roles was Captain Adam Fuller on the TV series 21 Jump Street. He joined the show in 1987 and stayed until it ended in 1991. In this role, he played a senior police officer who guided younger police officers.

After 21 Jump Street, Williams played the main character in The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage. He also played Detective August Brooks on the TNT series L.A. Heat in 1996. He became well-known for his recurring role as the mysterious character X on the hit science fiction show The X-Files. For his work on The X-Files, he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Williams also starred as Russell "Linc" Lincoln, a bartender, in the comedy show Linc's. In 2000, he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for this role. He later played Rufus Turner in the fantasy series Supernatural from 2008 to 2016. More recently, he has appeared as Quentin in the drama The Chi (2018–present), where his performance has been praised.

In the 2010s and 2020s, Williams took on several recurring roles. These included attorney Stephen Carlisle in Ambitions (2019) and teacher Joe Ridgeway in Locke & Key (2020). He has also made many guest appearances on TV shows like MacGyver, The A-Team, Stargate SG-1, Criminal Minds, and iZombie.

His other movie roles include a bar patron in Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) and the bounty hunter Creighton Duke in the horror film Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993). He also played the famous baseball pitcher Satchel Paige in the TV movie The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson (1990).
