Stone Road Mall is a popular shopping center located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It is the biggest mall in Guelph. You can find it at Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road.

The mall has about 130 different stores where you can shop for clothes, electronics, and more. It covers a large area, about 520,000 square feet! A company called Primaris Management Inc. runs the mall.

Malls often have big main stores called "anchor stores." These are usually large department stores or popular chains that attract many shoppers. Stone Road Mall's main anchor stores include Marshalls, Sport Chek, and Chapters-Indigo. A store called Sears used to be an anchor, but it closed down. The area where Sears used to be is now being rebuilt to add new stores like Toys "R" Us, HomeSense, and Mark's.

History of Stone Road Mall

Stone Road Mall first opened its doors in 1975. When it first started, it had a Kmart store, a grocery store called Miracle Food Mart, and about 35 other shops.

Just a few years later, in 1978, the mall grew much bigger. It doubled in size to have 70 stores, and a Sears store was added.

The mall has been updated and expanded over the years. In 2017, the western part of the mall was renovated and made larger. There is also an ongoing project to expand and update the eastern part of the mall.

Sears, one of the original big stores, closed in January 2018. This happened because the Sears company decided to close all its stores in Canada.
