Stronghurst is found in the southern part of Henderson County. A main road, Illinois Route 94, goes right through the village. This road can take you north to Biggsville (about 9 miles away) or south to La Harpe (about 15 miles away).
The city of Burlington, Iowa, is also nearby, about 15 miles to the northwest. Stronghurst covers a total area of about 0.87 square miles (2.26 square kilometers), and all of it is land.

In 2020, there were 833 people living in Stronghurst. There were 373 households, and 268 of these were families. Most people living in the village are White (about 95%).
