Struble is a small place in Pennsylvania, United States. It's not a city or a town with its own government. Instead, it's an unincorporated community located within Ferguson Township in Centre County.

The Story of Struble

Struble got its name from a farmer named Conrad Struble. He owned land there a long time ago. It turned out his farm was sitting on top of a lot of iron ore, which is a rock used to make iron and steel.

Mining for Iron Ore

People started digging for iron ore in Struble in 1880. This was a big deal because iron was very important for building things back then. To help move the ore, a railroad was planned.

The Railroad Arrives

In 1883, a railroad company called the Bellefonte and Buffalo Run Railroad started preparing the land for tracks. However, the actual tracks weren't put down until 1887. This was done by a new company, the Buffalo Run, Bellefonte and Bald Eagle Railroad.

Even after the iron ore mining stopped, Struble stayed important. It was a key meeting point for trains on the Bellefonte Central line.

Where is Struble Located?
