About the Band
How Sugar Free Allstars Started
The band first formed in 2000. It began with three members:
- Chris Wiser on keyboards
- Mike Satawake on guitar
- Andy Moore on drums
They played music that was a mix of funk and soul. Their first album, Sugar Free Allstars, came out in 2003.
Changes and New Sounds
After their first album, the band changed a bit. Andy Moore, the drummer, left the group. Rob Martin then joined as the new drummer.
Later, their guitarist also left. This meant the band became a duo with just Chris and Rob. They released two more albums, Dos Machos and Return of Dos Machos. These albums were for grown-ups.
Making Music for Families
In 2007, the band decided to try something new. They released their first album for children called Dos Ninos. This album was a big hit!
Because of its success, Sugar Free Allstars decided to focus on making music for kids and families. They became part of a growing music style called Kindie rock. This is rock music made for children.
They continued to release more popular children's albums:
- Funky Fresh and Sugar Free (2010)
- All On A Sunday Afternoon (2012)
- Sugar Free Allstars (2016)
