Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. is a company that provides mobile phone services in the Philippines. It is better known by its brand name, Sun Cellular. This company is a part of Digital Telecommunications Philippines, also called Digitel.
Sun Cellular started its operations in 2003. It was one of the newer companies to join the mobile phone market. Being a "latecomer" helped them build their network at a lower cost. Sun Cellular uses special access codes like 922, 923, 932, and 933 for its phone numbers.
Sun Cellular became very popular because of its "24/7" offers. These deals gave customers unlimited text messages and calls to other Sun Cellular users for a set price. This made other big phone companies, like Smart Communications and Globe Telecom, offer similar plans. However, their plans often cost more. By March 2010, Sun Cellular had grown to serve 12 million customers.
