History of Sunnyslope
Sunnyslope began in 1912 as a special farm called the Sunnyslope Avocado Nursery. This nursery became well-known for growing two new kinds of avocados: the Duke and the Benedict.
Later, in 1977, Sunnyslope was described as an early place where land was sold for people to build homes. By 2007, only about 20 people lived in Sunnyslope. It was also noted as one of 51 communities in rural Butte County that faced a higher risk from wildfires.
