Superman: Ultimate Flight is a super cool steel roller coaster that makes you feel like you're flying! It was designed by a company called Bolliger & Mabillard. You can find this awesome ride at three different Six Flags theme parks across the United States. These parks are Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Great America, and Six Flags Over Georgia. There's even a slightly different version at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom that's a bit shorter and more twisted.

Soaring Like Superman

Superman: Ultimate Flight is known as a "flying" roller coaster. This means riders lie down on their stomachs. It feels like you are flying through the air, just like Superman!

How the Ride Works

When you get on the ride, you sit in a normal position. Then, the seats tilt you back. This makes you face the sky. After that, the seats rotate you forward. Now you are lying on your stomach, looking at the ground below!

The Lift Hill

The ride starts with a chain lift hill. This is a big hill that pulls the train up slowly. It takes you to the very top of the ride. From there, you get ready for the exciting drops and twists.

Drops and Loops

Once you reach the top, you drop down a huge hill. This drop is about 100 feet tall! The ride reaches speeds of up to 51 miles per hour. You will also go through two inversions. An inversion is when the track turns you upside down. One of these is a special loop that isn't completely vertical.

Ride Experience

The ride is designed to make you feel like you are flying. You will experience forces up to 3 G's. This is like feeling three times your body weight pushing on you. Each train can hold 28 or 32 riders. You need to be at least 54 inches tall to ride.
