His Early Life and Education
Suthan Suthersan moved a lot as a child. This was because his father worked for Sri Lanka Railways. He went to many different schools in Sri Lanka. These included schools in Mankulam and Pesalai.
He finished his high school at Jaffna Central College. Later, he studied engineering at the University of Peradeniya. He earned his master's degree at the Asian Institute of Technology. He then got his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Toronto. A Ph.D. is the highest degree you can get.
His Work as an Engineer
After his studies, Suthan Suthersan started his career. He first joined a company called Clean Harbors in Boston. This company focused on handling and removing dangerous waste.
He then worked at Groundwater Technology Inc. in Norwood, Massachusetts. Later, he joined Geraghty and Miller. This company later became Arcadis North America. At Arcadis, he helped build a strong team. He became the Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President. This means he was a very important leader in the company.
