Suzanne Crouch (born February 27, 1952) is an American politician. She served as the 52nd Lieutenant Governor of Indiana from 2017 to 2025. Before that, she was the 56th State Auditor of Indiana from 2014 to 2017. She is a member of the Republican Party. In 2024, she ran for governor of Indiana but did not win the primary election.

Early Life and Education
Suzanne Crouch grew up in Evansville, Indiana. She went to Mater Dei High School. After high school, she studied at Purdue University. She earned a degree in political science, which is the study of how governments work.
Before working in government, Suzanne Crouch led the Republican Party in Vanderburgh County for four years. During her time as leader, more Republicans were elected to the County Council than in 60 years.
Working in County Government
Suzanne Crouch started her public service in county government.
County Auditor Role
In 1994, Crouch was elected as the Vanderburgh County Auditor. She served two terms in this position. The County Auditor helps manage the county's money and records.
Vanderburgh County Commissioner
Later, in 2002, Crouch was elected to the Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners. She was the president of this board until 2005. As a commissioner, she worked to make government more open. She helped start televising weekly meetings and held public hearings. This allowed people to share their ideas on important issues. During her time, the commissioners also got federal money for a local road project for the first time.
Serving as a State Representative
In 2005, Suzanne Crouch became a state representative for District 78 in Indiana. This district includes parts of Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties. It also covers parts of cities like Evansville and Newburgh. She was chosen for this role by local party leaders. In the state legislature, she was the vice chair of the Public Health Committee.
Becoming Indiana State Auditor
In 2013, the Indiana State Auditor, Dwayne Sawyer, left his job. Suzanne Crouch was chosen to take his place. The next year, in 2014, the Republican Party officially nominated her for the election. On November 4, 2014, Crouch won the election for State Auditor. She won by a large margin against her opponent, Michael Claytor. The State Auditor is like the chief financial officer for the state, managing its money.
Serving as Lieutenant Governor
The 2016 Election
In 2016, the Governor of Indiana, Mike Pence, was chosen to be the running mate for Donald Trump in the presidential election. This meant Governor Pence had to leave the race for governor of Indiana. Eric Holcomb, who was the Lieutenant Governor at the time, became the Republican candidate for governor. Suzanne Crouch was then chosen to run alongside Eric Holcomb as the candidate for Lieutenant Governor. They won the election, and Suzanne Crouch became the 52nd Lieutenant Governor of Indiana. The Lieutenant Governor helps the Governor and takes on special projects for the state.
