Sybil Danning (born Sybille Johanna Danninger on May 24, 1952) is an Austrian-American actress, model, and movie producer. She is famous for starring in many popular action and science-fiction movies, especially during the 1970s and 1980s.

Life and Career

Early Life

Danning was born in Wels, Austria. Before becoming an actress, she worked as a nurse and also studied cosmetology, which is the study of beauty treatments.

Rise to Fame in the 1980s

In 1978, Danning moved to Hollywood to focus on her acting career. Her role in the science-fiction movie Battle Beyond the Stars (1980) made her a well-known star in the genre.

Throughout the 1980s, she appeared in many films. Some of her famous movies from this time include Chained Heat (1983), Hercules (1983), Malibu Express (1985), and Reform School Girls (1986).

In 1990, Danning had to take a break from acting. She injured her back while practicing for a movie stunt.

Return to the Big Screen

In 2003, Danning attended a fan event in New Jersey. She was happy to see how many fans wanted her to act again. This inspired her to return to making movies.

In 2007, she appeared in two films by director Rob Zombie. One was a short trailer called Werewolf Women of the ... for the movie Grindhouse. The other was a role in the remake of the classic horror film Halloween.

A year later, she acted in the drama film Jump!, which was filmed in her home country of Austria. She also appeared in the TV series The Lair and the horror movie Virus X in 2010.

Other Activities

From 2002 to 2003, Danning was a part-owner of the German ice hockey team, SC Riessersee. She was the first woman to be a co-owner of a German hockey team. She helped bring three American players to the team, which helped them have a very successful season.
