The Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island was a special building in Sydney, Australia. It was built for a short time to host big events like trade shows and consumer fairs. This happened while a brand new, bigger convention center was being built in Darling Harbour. The Glebe Island center opened in February 2014 and closed its doors on September 30, 2016.

This temporary building was actually used before! It was the media center for the 2012 London Olympics. It sat right by the water of Sydney Harbour, under the famous Anzac Bridge.

The center was managed by a company called AEG Ogden. It had the largest single exhibition hall in Sydney, measuring 9,600 square metres. In total, it offered 20,000 square metres of space for different events.

Getting There: Transport Options

When events were happening, it was easy to get to the Sydney Exhibition Centre. You could use free special ferry boats or bus services. Glebe Island is also connected to the city by roads, and there was parking available for cars right at the venue.
