Sydney Tamiia Poitier (born 1973 or 1974) is an American-Canadian actress. She has starred in many TV shows and movies. She is known for her roles in Death Proof, Knight Rider, and Carter.

Sydney Tamiia Poitier was born in Los Angeles, California. Her birth year was either 1973 or 1974. Her father was the famous Bahamian-American actor Sidney Poitier. Her mother is Canadian actress Joanna Shimkus.

Sydney has an older sister named Anika. She also has four older half-sisters from her father's first marriage. Their names are Beverly, Pamela, Sherri, and Gina.

In 2003, she got a main role in the UPN sitcom Abby. This show also ended during its first season. Later that year, she had a repeating role in Joan of Arcadia. She played Rebecca Askew, who was the girlfriend of Joan's older brother, Kevin.

Sydney was also a regular on the first season of Veronica Mars. But she left the show after only four episodes. This happened because of budget cuts.

In 2007, Poitier starred in Death Proof. This movie was directed by Quentin Tarantino. She played a radio DJ named Jungle Julia. The next year, she had a co-starring role in the new Knight Rider series. She played FBI Agent Carrie Rivai.
