Sydney Ford (born December 2, 1960), known to many as Sydney Youngblood, is a singer, actor, and composer. He is famous for his popular dance songs from the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was born in the United States but also has German roots.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Sydney Ford was born in Texas in December 1960. From a very young age, he loved to sing. When he was six, he won a singing contest in his hometown. His grandmother was so proud of his lively performance that she called him 'youngblood'. This nickname later became his stage name.
Sydney played in several bands as he grew up. When he was twenty, he joined the US army. He served for five years in Germany. After his time in the army, he went back home and decided to focus on music again. This time, he wanted to become a solo artist.
First Steps to Fame
Sydney Youngblood signed with Virgin Records. His first song released was a cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers. It appeared briefly on the UK Singles Chart in 1988. This was just the start of his musical journey.
Sydney Youngblood's Music Career
Sydney Youngblood became very successful in the late 1980s. He had two songs that reached the top 40 in the UK and Europe. These were "Sit and Wait" and his first big hit, "If Only I Could".
Hit Songs and Albums
"If Only I Could" was a huge success. It reached number three on the UK Singles Chart. The song used a famous bassline and drumbeat from a track called "Break 4 Love" by Raze.
In the United States, his song "I'd Rather Go Blind" was very popular in dance clubs. It made it into the top 10 on the Billboard Dance chart. "Sit and Wait" also did well, reaching number 16 in the UK in December 1989.
Sydney Youngblood continued his success with his album Feeling Free. This album also included his earlier song, "Ain't No Sunshine".
Recent Appearances
In 2018, Sydney Youngblood took part in a German reality TV show. It was the 12th season of I'm a Star – Get Me Out of Here! on RTL Television.
