It's designed to interest people who like how things are made and how they work.
How T24 Started
The channel first started on June 18, 2007. Back then, it was called 24TECHNO. It was one of several channels made for cable and satellite TV.
Early Programs
At first, 24TECHNO showed many documentaries. These films focused on popular science, technology, and amazing experiments. The main goal was to bring together the best science shows. These shows came from both Russia and other countries.
About half of the content was made in Russia. The other half came from Western companies. These included well-known groups like BBC. The shows covered topics like "Man," "Technology," "Discovery," and "Space." They explained new science and the history of big discoveries. By 2008, about two million people watched the channel. These viewers were in Russia and nearby countries.
The Big Change in 2015
On February 1, 2015, 24TECHNO joined a new group. This group was called "Digital TV." It's part of a larger media company. This was a big fresh start for the channel.
The channel got a new name, "TEHNO 24" or "T24." It also got a new logo and a new look. The types of shows it broadcast changed too. Oleg Ternovoy became the new editor.
After this change, T24 started showing special projects. These projects focused on tanks and modern armies. They also made shows about people who love restoring old military equipment. Many shows on T24 are about military and civil engineering. A lot of the content is made by the channel itself. In 2015, T24 made 500 hours of its own shows. When it relaunched, T24 had 15.2 million viewers. These viewers were in Russia and nearby countries.
