Too Bad to Be True, also known as TBTBT, was a Canadian hip hop music group. They were from Toronto, Ontario, and were active in the 1990s. This group was famous for their 1993 album called One Track Mind. This album even won a special award, the Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year, at the 1994 Juno Awards. The group had four teenage members: Jeromy "Lyric J" Robinson, Shaka "DJ Shaka" Dodd, Al "Al C" Cox, and Frankie "MC Styles" Scarcelli.

The Story of TBTBT

TBTBT started making rap music in 1992. The members were still in school at the time. They even joined a pop music contest in Toronto. This contest was part of the "Stay Clear" campaign.

In 1993, the group released their album, One Track Mind. It was released by ISBA Records in Canada. Outside of Canada, it was released by Cold Chillin’ and Warner Bros. Records.

The music video for their song "One Track Mind" was played a lot on MuchMusic. MuchMusic was a popular music TV channel. However, their songs were not played much on regular radio stations in Canada. This was common for Canadian hip hop music back then. Only a few cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal played their songs on the radio.

In 1994, TBTBT released another song from their album. This song was called "Get Down to It". It was on the RPM Canadian Content chart for six weeks. This happened in April and May of that year.

What Happened Next

Two of Jeromy Robinson's sons have also become rap artists. They are known by their stage names, Casper TNG and K Money.
