How Did TNT Start?

TNT has a very long history, going back over 250 years. Its beginnings can be traced to the Netherlands in 1752. However, the company we know as TNT started much later. It was born in Australia in 1946. Over the next 60 years, TNT grew into a huge global company. It even started using its own airplanes to deliver packages. Much of this growth happened because TNT bought other companies. In 1996, a Dutch company called KPN bought TNT.

How Does TNT Deliver Packages?

When you send a package with TNT, here is what happens. First, the package goes to a local warehouse. A warehouse is like a big storage building. Then, a person called a courier picks up the package. The courier takes the package from the warehouse. They then deliver it right to the address on the package.

Couriers also pick up packages from different areas. They take these packages to the warehouse. At the warehouse, packages are sorted. They are then sent to another warehouse closer to where the receiver lives.

In the United Kingdom, many couriers work part-time. They often use their own cars to deliver packages. These couriers deliver to any house in a specific postcode area. This way, TNT can deliver to almost any home in that area.
