Table Bluff, California facts for kids
Table Bluff is a small place in Humboldt County, California. It sits right next to the Pacific Ocean. This area is about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of Fields Landing. It is also about 318 feet (97 meters) above sea level.
History of Table Bluff
The first hotel in Table Bluff was built in 1852. A pioneer named Van Aerman built it.
Table Bluff also had a post office for many years. It opened and closed several times between 1861 and 1901.
From 1892 to 1975, the Table Bluff Light stood here. This was a lighthouse that helped ships find their way. The Table Bluff Rancheria is also located on Table Bluff. This is a special place for the Wiyot people, a Native American tribe.
In the 1970s, a Christian community called Gospel Outreach lived at Table Bluff. They lived on a place called "Lighthouse Ranch." Many young people from a movement called the "Jesus movement" lived there from 1971 until the late 1980s.

Seth Kinman was a well-known person who lived in Table Bluff. He ran the local hotel and bar for many years. Seth Kinman and his family are buried in the Table Bluff Cemetery.
