Taco Bus is a popular chain of restaurants in the Tampa, Florida area. It's famous for serving delicious Mexican food. It all started as a small, well-loved food truck on Hillsborough Avenue. People really enjoyed the food from the truck, which led to opening more restaurants.

Growing the Taco Bus Family

The first Taco Bus restaurant opened on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, Florida. Then, another one opened on Franklin Street in downtown Tampa. They even opened a fourth spot near the University of South Florida (USF) on Fletcher Avenue. Rene Valenzuela is the chef and owner who started this yummy business. A new location in Brandon was planned to open in spring 2013. The USF location was known for being open 24 hours a day. Taco Bus also opened another spot in Treasure Island, Florida, on Gulf Boulevard.

Taco Bus offers a wide variety of food for everyone. You can find classic meat dishes, like their tasty roasted pork tacos. But they also have great choices for people who are vegetarian, vegan, or need gluten-free meals. This means there's something delicious for almost everyone!

Taco Bus on TV!

Taco Bus became even more famous when it appeared on popular TV shows.

Man v. Food Nation

On September 28, 2011, Taco Bus was featured on the TV show Man v. Food Nation. This special episode showed amazing street food from all over the U.S. The host, Adam Richman, visited Taco Bus. He tried their "puerco asado" tacos, which are made with marinated roast pork. These tacos also have a mix of fresh vegetables like jalapeños, cabbage, and marinated red onions.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

Taco Bus also appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on October 31, 2011. The host, Guy Fieri, sampled some of their unique dishes. He tried a "chilorio torta" and a "butternut squash tostada." These appearances helped more people learn about Taco Bus's delicious food.

Cooking Channel's Eat Street

In 2012, Taco Bus was also featured on the Cooking Channel's show "Eat Street." This show highlights popular food trucks and street food vendors.
