Guy Fieri (born January 22, 1968) is a famous American chef, author, and TV host. He is well-known for his exciting personality and his many cooking shows on the Food Network. He has also opened several restaurants around the world. Many people know him as the "face of the network" because his shows are so popular.

Early Life and Food Journey
Guy Fieri was born Guy Ramsay Ferry in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in a small town called Ferndale, California. When he was in high school, he traveled to Chantilly, France, as an exchange student. This trip helped him discover his passion for cooking and food.
After high school, Guy went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He studied hotel management and graduated in 1990.
How Guy Started Cooking
Guy's journey with food began very early. When he was just 10 years old, he built a special bicycle cart with his dad. He used it to sell "Awesome Pretzels" in his hometown. He also washed dishes to earn money for his trip to France. Before college, he worked in a restaurant in Eureka, California.
After college, he managed a restaurant in Long Beach, California. Later, he became a district manager for a group of restaurants called Louise's Trattoria. He helped manage six locations and trained new staff.
Guy Fieri's Restaurants
Guy Fieri is famous for his unique restaurants. In 1996, he opened his first restaurant, Johnny Garlic's, in Santa Rosa, California. He later opened more locations and also created Tex Wasabi's, which served barbecue and sushi.

Popular Dining Spots
In 2011, Guy partnered with Carnival Cruise Lines to create Guy's Burger Joint. These burger spots are now on many Carnival cruise ships. He also has Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse on some ships, serving BBQ and beer.
In 2012, he opened Guy's American Kitchen and Bar in New York City. Even though it received a lot of attention, it was very popular and stayed open for several years.
Other popular restaurants include Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen and Bar in Las Vegas, which opened in 2014. In 2018, he teamed up with Robert Earl to open Chicken Guy! at Walt Disney World. This fast-food spot serves chicken sandwiches. In 2021, he launched Guy Fieri's Flavortown Kitchen, which is a delivery-only restaurant.
Guy Fieri on TV
Guy Fieri became a TV star after winning the second season of The Next Food Network Star in 2006. This win led to his first cooking show, Guy's Big Bite.
Famous Food Network Shows
His second and most famous show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, started in 2007. On this show, Guy travels across the country visiting local restaurants and trying their amazing food. The show is known for its fun and energetic style.
He also co-hosted Ultimate Recipe Showdown and had a show called Guy Off the Hook. In 2010, Guy hosted the game show Minute to Win It on NBC for two seasons.

Guy has appeared on many other Food Network shows, including Dinner: Impossible and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. In 2012, he was a team captain on Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off.

In 2015, Guy helped celebrate many same-sex weddings in Miami Beach. He did this to honor his late sister, who was a lesbian.
Helping Others and New Ventures
Guy Fieri also owns a vineyard and sells wine under the name Hunt & Ryde. He named it after his sons, Hunter and Ryder.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Guy helped raise over $20 million for restaurant workers who had lost their jobs. He teamed up with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation for this important cause.
In 2023, Guy started Guy's Flavortown Tailgate. This is a big annual event held during Super Bowl weekend. It offers fans free food, music, and fun activities.
Guy's Personal Life
Guy Fieri met his wife, Lori, at a restaurant he was managing. They got married in 1995. They live in Santa Rosa, California, with their sons, Hunter and Ryder. Guy also takes care of his nephew, Jules, after his sister passed away in 2011.
Guy changed his last name from Ferry to Fieri to honor his grandfather, Giuseppe Fieri. His grandfather was an Italian immigrant who changed his name when he came to the United States. Guy also loves collecting classic American cars.
