History of Tacuatí

In October 2008, something interesting happened in Tacuatí. Local fishermen discovered a very large female anaconda. This snake was about 6 meters long, which is as long as a small bus!

Economy and Land Use

The main ways people make a living in Tacuatí today involve farming and raising animals. Farmers grow crops like soy and sesame. Many people also work in cattle ranching, which means raising cows for meat or milk.

In the past, Tacuatí was covered with large forests. Over time, these forests were cut down by sawmills. After that, people tried to grow cotton, but the farms were not managed well. This led to the land becoming dry and sandy in many areas.
