Tahj James Rodney Minniecon is an Indigenous Australian soccer player. He played as a winger or striker. His last team was Davao Aguilas FC in the Philippines Football League in 2018.

Early Life and Soccer Beginnings

Tahj James Rodney Minniecon grew up in Brisbane, Australia. He went to Cavendish Road State High School. Tahj is from an Indigenous Australian background. One of his first soccer clubs was Loganholme Lightning Football Club.

Tahj's Club Career

Playing for Queensland Roar

Tahj Minniecon joined the Queensland Roar team in 2007. He came from the AIS, which helps young athletes. When he signed a two-year deal, he was very excited. He said he always wanted to play for his hometown club. His family and friends lived in Brisbane, so it was a perfect start for him.

Time at Gold Coast United

On January 3, 2009, Tahj signed with a new team, Gold Coast United. This was for their first season in the A-League, Australia's top soccer league. Tahj was almost traded to another team, Newcastle Jets. However, the trade did not happen. This was because Tahj got a heel injury during a youth league game.

Joining Western Sydney Wanderers

After leaving Gold Coast United, Tahj tried out for the Western Sydney Wanderers. He signed a one-year contract with them on August 8, 2012. Tahj Minniecon made history with the Wanderers. He was the very first Indigenous player to join their team.

Short Spell at Rockdale City Suns

After his time with Western Sydney, Tahj Minniecon signed a short contract. He joined the NSW NPL1 club, Rockdale City. This was a brief stop in his career.

Playing in the Philippines with Meralco Manila

On December 1, 2014, Tahj moved to the Philippines. He signed a one-year deal with Loyola Meralco Sparks. He hoped this move would help his soccer career. On February 15, 2015, Tahj played his first game for Loyola. He also scored his first goal for them in a 3–2 win. This was during the 2015 United Football League.

The club later changed its name to FC Meralco Manila. This happened when they joined the new Philippines Football League in 2017. However, the club closed down in January 2018. This left Tahj without a team.
