Taiki Maekawa's Football Journey
Taiki Maekawa was born in Numazu, Japan, on July 22, 1979. He grew up loving football and became a goalkeeper. After finishing high school at Shimizu Commercial High School, he began his professional career.
Starting His Career with Honda FC

Moving to Vegalta Sendai
In 2001, Maekawa moved to Vegalta Sendai, a club in the J2 League. He played one match in the Emperor's Cup, which is a big football tournament in Japan. However, he didn't get to play in the main J2 League games. Another goalkeeper, Norio Takahashi, was often chosen to play instead.
In 2002, Vegalta Sendai was promoted to the J1 League, which is the top football league in Japan. Even though the team moved up, Maekawa still found it hard to get playing time. Other goalkeepers like Norio Takahashi and Kiyomitsu Kobari were ahead of him.
