Taim Hasan (Arabic: تيم حسن) was born on February 17, 1976. He is a very famous Syrian actor. He is known for playing strong and interesting characters in TV shows in Syria and across the Arab world.

Taim Hasan became well-known in Syria through many popular Syrian TV series. Some of his most famous early roles were in shows like Saladin, Taifas, and Nizar Qabbani. He became a huge star in the Arab world when he played the main character in the Egyptian series King Farouk. He often worked with Hatem Ali, a top Syrian director. Taim Hasan won a "best actor" award for his role in King Farouk. This helped him become one of the leading actors of his time. He also starred in the movie The Waiting in 2006. Many people know him best as Abboud, a character who didn't have a family but was loved and cared for by everyone in his new town.

Life and Career Highlights

Taim Hasan was born in Tartus, Syria, on February 17, 1976. Tartus is Syria's second-largest port city. When he was about four or five years old, his family moved to Damascus. His family was not involved in the film business before him. His father taught German, and his mother taught Arabic.

On July 1, 2004, he married Syrian actress Dima Bayaa. They had two children, Ward and Fahad.

Taim Hasan first tried to join the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts but was not accepted. He tried again, and this time, a committee led by Syrian actor Jamal Suliman saw his great talent. They accepted him into the institute.

Becoming a Star

After finishing his studies in 2001, Taim Hasan quickly became known for important roles. His first big role was in 2000, while he was still studying. It was in a Syrian series directed by Hatem Ali. The next year, he got his breakthrough role in the series Saladin. In this show, he played "the Fatimid Caliph Al-Aded Ledin Allah." By 2006, Taim Hasan had worked with many respected Syrian actors, like Jamal Suliman and Ayman Zidan.

Playing King Farouk

After playing the main role in a romantic drama called "Along Days," Taim Hasan was asked to play King Farouk. This was a very big project in Egypt. He had played famous historical figures before, like Syria's well-known poet Nizar Qabbani in 2005.

It was said that other Egyptian actors had turned down the role of King Farouk. Taim Hasan not only helped save the project, but he also helped turn it into a successful drama. To look like King Farouk, Taim Hasan reportedly shaved his hair during filming. He also wore a special body-suit and heavy makeup to look like the king in his later years.

On December 6, 2007, Taim Hasan won a Gold Medal for Best Actor. He shared this award with Egyptian actor Yehia El-Fakharany. He received it at the Cairo Festival for Arab Media for his role in "King Farouk."

Later TV Shows and Movies

Taim Hasan's TV series Conflict on the Sand was filmed in Morocco and Syria. It came out in 2008. Many people saw it as a new take on old "Beduin" stories in Arabic drama. This show was an epic story set in the desert in the early 1700s. It also starred actors like Saba Mubarak and Muna Wassef. Hatem Ali directed it. The series cost over $6 million to make.

Taim Hasan also filmed his first movie role in Egypt called Mecano. It was released in 2009. The movie also starred Lebanese actress Nour. It is a drama about a young architect who has a rare memory problem. He falls in love with a woman who helps him through his difficulties.

Taim Hasan is also the main character in all five seasons of the popular Lebanese series Al Hayba. This show features many famous Arab celebrities.

He also appeared in the American teen show Teen Wolf. He played Simeon Alawi in Season 3.
