Taisuke Matsugae (松ヶ枝 泰介, Matsugae Taisuke, born 15 December 1982) is a Japanese football player. He was a midfielder, which means he played in the middle of the field. He played for many teams, including Mumbai in India's I-League.

Taisuke Matsugae's Football Journey
Starting with JEF United Chiba
Taisuke Matsugae began his professional football career in 2005. He joined JEF United Chiba, a team in Japan's top league, the J1 League. He was part of the team for two years, until 2006. During this time, he helped his team win the J.League Cup twice.
Playing for TDK/Blaublitz Akita
In 2007, Taisuke moved to a team called TDK/Blaublitz Akita. This team played in the Japan Football League. He stayed with this club for a long time, from 2007 to 2012. He played in 150 league matches for them. Taisuke also scored 20 goals during his time at the club.
Moving to Shillong Lajong in India
Taisuke Matsugae decided to try playing football in India. On January 17, 2013, he joined Shillong Lajong F.C. for a two-week trial. Even though he was just on trial, he played his first game for Shillong Lajong very soon.
First Game and Goal
His first game was on January 20, 2013, in the I-League. He came into the game as a substitute. A few weeks later, on February 2, he scored his first goal for Shillong Lajong. This goal was against United Sikkim F.C. in an I-League match.
Playing for Mumbai FC
After his time with Shillong Lajong, Taisuke continued his career in India. He joined Mumbai FC to play in the 2014–15 I-League season. He played for Mumbai FC until 2016.
