Takahiro Yamanishi (山西 尊裕, Yamanishi Takahiro, born April 2, 1976) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. Takahiro Yamanishi was born in Shizuoka, Japan. He played for two main clubs during his career: Júbilo Iwata and Shimizu S-Pulse. He also represented Japan at the youth level.

Takahiro Yamanishi's Club Career
Takahiro Yamanishi started his football journey in his hometown. He was born in Shizuoka on April 2, 1976. After finishing high school at Shimizu Higashi High School, he joined the professional team Júbilo Iwata in 1995.
Playing for Júbilo Iwata
Yamanishi started playing regularly for Júbilo Iwata in 1997. He was a key player, often playing as a left defender. During his time with Júbilo Iwata, the club had a very successful period. They won the J1 League three times: in 1997, 1999, and 2002.
The team also won the J.League Cup in 1998 and the Emperor's Cup in 2003. On the international stage in Asia, Júbilo Iwata won the 1998–99 Asian Club Championship. They also finished second in the 1999–00 and 2000–01 Asian Club Championship tournaments. This period is known as a "golden era" for the club because they won so many important titles.
Moving to Shimizu S-Pulse
In 2005, Yamanishi moved to Shimizu S-Pulse. This club was a rival to Júbilo Iwata, but they were both from the same Shizuoka Prefecture. At Shimizu S-Pulse, he continued to play as a left side-back. He played in most games during his first two years there. However, from 2007, his chances to play became fewer. This was because another player, Arata Kodama, started playing more in his position. Takahiro Yamanishi decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2008 season.
Yamanishi's National Team Career
Takahiro Yamanishi also played for Japan's national youth team. In April 1995, he was chosen to join the Japan U-20 national team. He played in the 1995 World Youth Championship. During this tournament, he played in 3 matches. His role on the team was as a left side midfielder.
