Takehiko Endo (遠藤 武彦, Endō Takehiko, October 5, 1938 – December 27, 2019) was an important Japanese politician. He was a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, which is one of Japan's main political groups. He served in the House of Representatives, which is part of Japan's national parliament called the Diet of Japan.

Takehiko Endo was born on October 5, 1938, in Yonezawa, Yamagata, Japan. He grew up and later studied at Chuo University. This university is well-known in Japan.
His Work as a Politician
Mr. Endo spent many years working in Japanese politics. He was elected to the House of Representatives several times. This is similar to being a member of parliament in other countries. The House of Representatives is where laws are discussed and made for the whole country.
Serving in the Government
In 2007, Takehiko Endo was given a very important job. He became the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. This role involves looking after farming, forests, and fishing in Japan. It's a big responsibility to help make sure people have food and that natural resources are managed well.
However, he held this position for only a short time. After just eight days, he decided to step down from his role. This happened because of some concerns that came up.
Later Life and Passing
Takehiko Endo continued to be involved in politics for some time after this. He passed away on December 27, 2019, at the age of 81. He died in his hometown of Yonezawa, Yamagata, due to pneumonia.
