Takeru Satoh (佐藤 健, Satō Takeru, born 21 March 1989) is a famous Japanese actor. He is well-known for playing Ryotaro Nogami in the Kamen Rider Den-O series. He also played Himura Kenshin in the live-action Rurouni Kenshin movies.
Satoh was born in Iwatsuki-ku, Saitama, Japan. When he was younger, he worked as a child actor for a few years. He appeared in commercials and magazines. However, he stopped acting as a child because he was quite shy. He finished high school in 2007.

Career Highlights
Early Acting Roles (2006–2008)
Takeru Satoh was discovered by an agent in Tokyo when he was in high school. He started his acting career in 2006. His first TV show was Princess Princess D, where he played Toru Kouno.
In 2007, he became very popular for his role as Ryotaro Nogami in the Kamen Rider series. Satoh believes the show's funny parts made it very popular.
Becoming a Star (2009–2011)
After the success of Kamen Rider Den-O, Satoh starred in the TV drama Rookies in 2008. He played Yuya Okada, a member of a high school baseball team. Even though it was a smaller role, Rookies was shown during prime time. This meant many more people saw him act.
He also appeared in the drama Bloody Monday, which was based on a popular comic book. Over the next two years, Satoh acted in several TV shows and movies. These included Mei's Butler and Beck. In 2010, he had his first main role in a prime time TV show called Q10.
In 2011, it was announced that he would play Himura Kenshin. This was for a live-action movie based on the famous Rurouni Kenshin comic series.
Rurouni Kenshin and Beyond (2012–Present)
The first Rurouni Kenshin movie came out in August 2012. It was a big hit in Japan. In May 2012, Satoh also performed on stage for the first time. He played Romeo in a Japanese version of Romeo and Juliet.
He continued to star in many films and TV shows. These included the science fiction movie Real and The Liar and His Lover. In 2014, he played a new detective in the TV series Bitter Blood.
Satoh returned as Himura Kenshin in two more Rurouni Kenshin movies in 2014. These were Kyoto Inferno and The Legend Ends. The original author of the Rurouni Kenshin comic praised Satoh's acting. He said Satoh was the perfect actor for Kenshin.
In 2015, Satoh starred in the TV series The Emperor's Cook. He also appeared in movies like Bakuman and If Cats Disappeared from the World. In 2017, his role in The 8-Year Engagement earned him a nomination for a top acting award.
In 2018, he starred in two popular TV series: Hanbun, Aoi and Stepmom and Daughter Blues. He also played Ryotaro Nogami again in a Kamen Rider movie.
More Rurouni Kenshin movies were announced in 2018. These were a prequel and a sequel to the first three films. Satoh played Kenshin again in these movies, which were released in 2021.
In 2021, Satoh started a new agency called Co-LaVo with fellow actor Ryunosuke Kamiki. He is also known for being an unofficial member of the 'Elite Four' in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Personal Life
Takeru Satoh has a younger sister. His parents divorced when he was in middle school. He played baseball when he was in primary and middle school. He also has a black belt in Shorinji Kempo, which is a Japanese martial art.
