They divorced in 1995. Her second husband was a lawyer named Dmitry Breslav. They moved to Boston together. Sadly, he passed away a few months later. Her third husband was a heart surgeon named Sergei Ambatelo. They divorced in 2005. Tamara Gverdtsiteli became a Russian citizen on July 12, 2000.
