Tampereen Pyrintö, often called Pyrintö, is a Finnish basketball team from the city of Tampere. It is the basketball part of a larger sports club. Both the men's and women's teams play in Korisliiga. This is the top basketball league in Finland.

Since 2010, Pyrintö has also played in international competitions. These include the EuroChallenge and the Baltic Basketball League.

Team Success

Pyrintö has won many awards and titles over the years. They are one of Finland's most successful basketball clubs.

Damon Williams is a Pyrintö legend. His number 32 is retired and no other player can use it.

Some players have been so important to Pyrintö that their jersey numbers are "retired." This means the numbers are hung up in the home arena. Current players can still use most of these numbers. However, Damon Williams' number 32 is special. No one else can play with it.

Women's Team

Pyrintö also has a very successful women's basketball team. They play in the Women's Korisliiga. This is the highest league for women's basketball in Finland. The women's team has won eight Finnish titles. They have also won the Finnish Cup once. Just like the men's team, the women's team has retired a jersey number. This is the number of Seija Leino.
