Tara County is a special kind of area in New South Wales, Australia. It's one of 141 "cadastral divisions." Think of these as old-fashioned land areas used for mapping and keeping records of property.
Tara County is found in the far southwest of New South Wales. It sits just north of the famous Murray River. To its east is the Darling Anabranch River, and to its west is the border with South Australia.
This county is home to some interesting places. You'll find the Tarawi Nature Reserve here. It also includes small areas like Huntingfield, Pine Camp, Nulla, Warranangra, and Rufus River. A very important feature is Lake Victoria, a large lake in the region.
The name "Tara" is thought to come from a word used by the local Aboriginal people.
