Taro Hasegawa (長谷川 太郎, Hasegawa Tarō, born August 17, 1979) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward. After his playing career, he became a coach. He is currently the senior striker coach for Briobecca Urayasu, a club in the Japan Football League.

Taro Hasegawa's Football Journey
Starting Out in Youth Football
Taro Hasegawa was born in Adachi, Tokyo, Japan, on August 17, 1979. He started his football journey in the youth team of Kashiwa Reysol. This is a well-known club in Japan. He played there from 1995 to 1997.
Early Professional Career
In 1998, Taro Hasegawa joined the main team of Kashiwa Reysol. This team played in the J1 League, which is the top football league in Japan. He made his first professional appearance on March 28, 1998, against Consadole Sapporo.
In 1999, he played more often for Kashiwa Reysol. That year, his team won the J.League Cup championship. This was a big achievement for the club. However, after 2000, he didn't get to play as much.
Moving to New Teams
In 2002, Taro Hasegawa moved to Albirex Niigata. This club played in the J2 League, which is the second division. He didn't play much there either.
In 2003, he joined another J2 League club, Ventforet Kofu. For the first couple of years, he still didn't play regularly. But in 2005, things changed! He became a key player, playing in all matches as a left winger. He scored an impressive 17 goals that season. Thanks to his efforts and the team's performance, Ventforet Kofu finished third. This allowed them to be promoted to the J1 League in 2006.
However, once they were in J1, Taro Hasegawa again found himself playing less. In August 2007, he moved to Tokushima Vortis, another J2 League team. There, he played in every match as a regular player.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2008, Taro Hasegawa moved to Yokohama FC, also in the J2 League. He didn't play much during his time there.
In 2009, he joined New Wave Kitakyushu, a club in the Japan Football League. He played regularly for this team. In 2010, the club was promoted to the J2 League.
After that, he played for Urayasu SC from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he had an experience playing for an Indian club called Mohammedan. He decided to retire from playing football in December 2014.
Throughout his career, Taro Hasegawa played in 215 league matches and scored 38 goals.
