Tarragona is a special area in the southern part of Catalonia, a region in Spain. It is called a province. Think of a province like a large county or district within a country.
This province shares its borders with several other provinces. To its north, it meets Lleida and Barcelona. To the west, it borders Castelló, Teruel, and Saragossa. On its eastern side, Tarragona province has a long coastline along the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
The capital city of this province is also called Tarragona. It's a very old city with a rich history, especially from Roman times.
