Tarsha Vega (born April 26, 1972) is an American singer and performer. She is also known for her acting roles and for being an internet personality. Tarsha is most famous for her first album, Diamonds and Monsters, released in 2000 by RCA Records.
Music Career
Tarsha Vega started her music journey by singing for the group Pop Rox. They released an album called The Warriors. She worked with Duke Mushroom and the FreshMaka on this project.
In 2000, Tarsha released her very first solo album, Diamonds and Monsters. She helped write every song on the album. The famous musician Carole King even helped write songs and sang backup vocals on "Rooftops."
Other popular songs from the album include "Goodbye Girl" and "Shine On." The song "Be Ya Self" is an anthem that encourages girls to be confident. "Diamonds and Monsters" is a song that explores difficult feelings.

Tarsha explained the meaning of her album title, Diamonds and Monsters. The "monsters" in the title are inspired by the creatures from the children's book Where the Wild Things Are. Tarsha sees these monsters as fun, not scary.
