Early Life and Family

Natasha Tameika Cobbs was born on July 7, 1981, in Jesup, Georgia. Her parents were Bishop Fritz Cobbs and Pastor Bertha Cobbs. She grew up in a family deeply involved in church and music.

Tasha started leading worship at a young age at Jesup New Life Ministries. This church was founded by her father.

In 2017, Tasha married Kenneth Leonard, who is a music producer. They had a private ceremony with family and friends. In 2021, they adopted a son named Asher, welcoming him into their family.

Ministry Work

Tasha Cobbs Leonard has dedicated much of her life to ministry through music. From 2006, she toured across America for three years with Pastor William H. Murphy III. He leads the dReam Center Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

After touring, she continued to lead worship at the dReam Center Church. She also helped manage the Worship and Arts department there. In 2018, she even appeared as herself in a movie called Sinners Wanted.

In 2019, Tasha and her husband, Kenneth, started their own church. It is called The Purpose Place Church and is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They both serve as pastors there.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard began her solo music career in 2010. She released her first album, Smile, on her own. This album caught the attention of a major record label, EMI Gospel. This label is now known as Motown Gospel.
