Tasman Keith's Early Life
Tasman Keith is a proud Gumbaynggirr man from a place called Bowraville, New South Wales.
When Tasman was seven, his family moved to Sydney. They moved because his father, a rapper named Wire MC, was making music there. Tasman shared that he was already performing on stage at festivals by the age of eight. When he was 14, his family decided to move back to Bowraville.
Tasman Keith's Music Career
Starting His Music Journey (2016–2020)
In 2016, Tasman Keith began sharing his music online. He uploaded his songs to Triple J Unearthed, a platform for new artists.
In 2017, he released his first single, "Might Snap." This song quickly became popular on many community radio stations. It also received great reviews on Triple J Unearthed. Soon after, Tasman started working with producer James Mangohig and Nooky from Bad Apples Music. They began creating his first collection of songs, called an EP.
In 2018, Tasman Keith released his first EP, Mission Famous. This EP was recorded at Skinnyfish Music's Studio G. It was produced by Mangohig and Nooky. The title track was highlighted as a top new song by Triple J's Al Newstead.
In 2019, Tasman worked with another artist, Stevie Jean. Together, they recorded an EP called Evenings.
In November 2019, he released "Billy Bad Again." Tasman said this song came from a "semi-frustrating studio session." The music video for "Billy Bad Again" won Australian Video of the Year at the J Awards of 2020.
In December 2020, Tasman Keith released another EP, To Whom It May Concern.
Releasing His First Album: A Colour Undone (2021–Present)
In February 2022, Tasman Keith announced his first full-length album. It was called A Colour Undone. He also released a new song from the album, "Love Too Soon." A Colour Undone reached number 718 on the ARIA Charts.
