Jacob Paulson (born on January 15, 1997), known as JK-47, is an Indigenous Australian rapper, singer, and activist. He comes from Tweed Heads South, New South Wales. His first album, Made for This, was released on September 4, 2020. He released it on his own, without a big record label.

About JK-47
Early Life and Music Beginnings
Jacob Paulson was born in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. He is a Minjungbal/Gudjinburra man from the Bundjalung community. He went to Tweed River High School from 2009 to 2015.
Jacob started rapping and writing songs when he was 14 years old. He shared in an interview that he loved rap music since he was in third or fourth grade. His brother and cousin also used to rap, which made him want to be a rapper too. He likes his music to be honest and to share an important message.
Music Career Highlights
Starting Out in 2019
On September 13, 2019, JK-47 released his first solo song, "Came for the Lot." It featured another rapper from Brisbane named Nerve. Later that month, he was featured on Nerve's song "Sunday Roast." This song helped both artists become more well-known. JK-47 also opened for Nerve at the Listen Out Festival that month.
First Album and More Success (2020-Present)
In January 2020, JK-47 was announced as a supporting act for Adrian Eagle's Mama Tour. On May 29, he released the song "The Recipe." This song was played a lot on Triple J radio. He also became a "Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist."
In July 2020, it was announced that New World Artists signed JK-47. This meant he joined their group of musicians. On July 3, he released "I Am Here (Trust Me)," featuring Phoebe Jacobs and Hazy. This song talks about important topics like mental health and Aboriginal deaths in custody.
On August 8, 2020, JK-47 performed his song "Outta Here" online at the 17th Annual National Indigenous Music Awards. This song was later on his first album. On September 4, 2020, he released his debut album, Made for This.
In February 2021, JK-47 performed a cover of 2Pac's "Changes" with Bronte Eve for Triple J's Like a Version. He also performed "The Recipe." In March, he performed at the Adelaide Festival's hip hop concert. This event featured only Indigenous artists like Jimblah and Ziggy Ramo.
In July 2021, his album Made for This was re-released on vinyl. Only 150 copies were made. In August 2022, he released "At One (reVision)." He also announced his second album, Revision for Regrowth, which came out in November 2023.
Personal Life
JK-47 and his partner, Lauren, had a son named Zuriel in June 2020.
Music Style and Inspirations
JK-47 mainly creates hip hop and Australian hip hop music. His songs often talk about important issues faced by Indigenous Australians.
His song "The Recipe" has been compared to the music of the late American rapper Nipsey Hussle. JK-47 looks up to Nipsey Hussle. He also gets inspiration from artists like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, the Game, Joey Bada$$, and Lauryn Hill.
