Jacob Paulson (born January 15, 1997), known as JK-47, is an Indigenous Australian rapper, musician, and activist. He comes from Tweed Heads South, New South Wales.
His first album, Made for This, came out on September 4, 2020. He released it on his own, without a big record company.

About His Early Life
Jacob Paulson was born in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. He is a Minjungbal/Gudjinburra man from the Bundjalung community. He went to Tweed River High School from 2009 to 2015.
Jacob started rapping and writing songs when he was 14 years old. In an interview in 2020, he shared how he became a rapper. He said he loved rap music since he was in third or fourth grade. His brother and cousin used to rap, and that made him want to be a rapper too. He likes his music to be real and to share an important message.
His Music Career
How He Started (2019)
On September 13, 2019, JK-47 released his first solo song called "Came for the Lot." It featured another rapper from Brisbane named Nerve. Later that month, he was also featured on Nerve's song "Sunday Roast." This song helped both artists become more well-known. At the end of September, JK-47 opened for Nerve at the Listen Out Festival.
His First Album and Beyond (2020–Present)
On January 22, 2020, it was announced that JK-47 would open for Adrian Eagle's Mama Tour. On May 29, he released the song "The Recipe." This song was played a lot on Triple J radio. It also helped him become a "Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist." This means he was highlighted as a new and exciting artist.
In July, a music magazine called The Music shared that New World Artists had signed JK-47. This company would help him with his music. On July 3, JK-47 released another song called "I Am Here (Trust Me)." It featured Phoebe Jacobs and Hazy. This song talks about important topics for Indigenous Australians.
On August 8, JK-47 performed his song "Outta Here" online at the 17th Annual National Indigenous Music Awards. This song was later included on his first album. On September 4, 2020, he released his debut album, Made for This. In January 2021, he performed at the Yours and Owls Festival.
On February 11, 2021, JK-47 performed a cover of 2Pac's famous song "Changes" with Bronte Eve for Triple J's Like a Version show. He also performed his own song, "The Recipe." In March, JK-47 performed at the Adelaide Festival's hip hop concert. This event featured only Indigenous artists like Jimblah, Ziggy Ramo, and J-Milla.
On July 1, a record company called Waxx Lyrical announced Made for This as their "Record of the Month." They then made a special limited edition of the album on vinyl records.
In August 2022, JK-47 released "At One (reVision)." He also announced that his second album, Revision for Regrowth, would be coming out soon.
His Personal Life
JK-47 and his partner Lauren had a son named Zuriel in June 2020.
His Music Style and Inspirations
JK-47 mainly creates hip hop and Australian hip hop music. His songs often talk about important issues that Indigenous Australians face.
His song "The Recipe" has been compared to the music of the late American rapper Nipsey Hussle. JK-47 sees Nipsey Hussle as a big influence. He also looks up to artists like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, the Game, Joey Bada$$, and Lauryn Hill.
