Tasos Mitropoulos (born August 23, 1957) is a Greek person who used to be a professional footballer. He played as a midfielder. After his football career, he also became a politician.

Tasos Mitropoulos: A Football Star
Tasos Mitropoulos was born in a city called Volos in Greece. He started playing football at a young age for a local team named Aris Petroupoli.
Playing for Clubs
In 1976, Tasos joined a team called Ethnikos Piraeus. He played there for five years. He then moved to a bigger club in the same city, Piraeus, called Olympiacos. With Olympiacos, he helped the team win the league championship three times and the Greek Cup twice.
Later in his career, Mitropoulos played for AEK Athens for two seasons. He won two more league titles with them. He also played one game for Panathinaikos, which is a big rival of Olympiacos. He returned to Olympiacos in 1997 for his very last season before retiring. He was almost 41 years old when he stopped playing. Fans of Olympiacos gave him the nickname "Rambo" because of his strong and determined playing style.
Playing for Greece
Tasos Mitropoulos was also a very important player for the Greek national team. He played for his country from 1978 to 1994. During this time, he played 76 matches and scored 8 goals. He even played in the 1994 World Cup, which is a huge international football tournament.
Becoming a Coach
After he stopped playing football in 1998, Mitropoulos became an assistant coach. He worked with several head coaches at Olympiacos, including Dusan Bajevic and Takis Lemonis. As an assistant coach, he helped Olympiacos win the Greek Championship four times in a row, from 1999 to 2002.
Life After Football
After his football and coaching career, Tasos Mitropoulos decided to get involved in politics. He became a member of the city council in Piraeus. In 2004, he even ran to become a member of the Greek Parliament for the New Democracy political party.
