Tatiana Vladimirovna Kopnina (born November 11, 1921 – died March 6, 2009) was a talented Russian painter. She was also a dedicated art teacher. Tatiana lived and worked in the city now known as Saint Petersburg. Many people see her as an important artist from the Leningrad school of painting. She was especially famous for her beautiful portrait paintings.

Tatiana Kopnina was born on November 11, 1921. Her hometown was Krasnoyarsk, located in East Siberia, Soviet Russia. She loved art from a young age.
Her Art Education
In 1950, Tatiana finished her studies at the Ilya Repin Institute. This was a very famous art school. She learned from great teachers there. Some of her teachers included Alexander Zaytsev, Genrikh Pavlovsky, and Semion Abugov.
Her Artistic Career
Tatiana started showing her artwork in exhibitions in 1949. She painted many different kinds of pictures. She created portraits of people. She also painted genre scenes, which are pictures of everyday life. Besides these, she enjoyed painting landscapes (scenes of nature) and still lifes (pictures of objects).
In 1985, Tatiana had her very own art show. This special exhibition took place in Leningrad.
Teaching and Legacy
Tatiana became a member of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists in 1950. This is a group for professional artists. From 1960 to 1990, she shared her knowledge with others. She worked as an art teacher at the Secondary Art School. This school was part of the Repin Institute of Arts in Leningrad.
Tatiana Kopnina passed away on March 6, 2009, in Saint Petersburg. Her paintings are still admired today. You can find her artwork in museums and private collections. Her art is displayed in Russia, Japan, the U.S., China, and other countries around the world.
