Tatyana Mikhailovna Lioznova (Russian: Татьяна Михайловна Лиознова) was a famous Soviet film director. She was born on July 20, 1924, and passed away on September 29, 2011. She is best known for her popular TV series Seventeen Moments of Spring, which came out in 1973.

Tatyana Lioznova directed several movies. Her films, like Three Poplars in Plyushcikha (1967) and Carnival (1981), were known for their clear stories. She often used close-up shots that showed deep feelings. Her movies also had beautiful music.

One of her most loved films was Three Poplars at Plyuschikha Street (1967). This movie was inspired by a song called "Tenderness". It starred two very famous actors, Tatiana Doronina and Oleg Yefremov. The story was about a taxi driver and a married woman who almost fell in love. Many Russian viewers loved this touching drama. It became as popular in Russia as Casablanca was in America.

Tatyana Lioznova was a very dedicated director. She was known for being a perfectionist. Even though she only made about six movies, her work was highly respected. In 1984, she was named a People's Artist of the USSR. This is a very high honor for artists in the Soviet Union. She worked at the Gorky Film Studio.
