Tavia Yeung Sin-yiu (born August 30, 1979) is a famous actress from Hong Kong. She was also known as Tavia Yeung Yi. She is best known for starring in TV shows like Vigilante Force (2003), Moonlight Resonance (2008), Beyond the Realm of Conscience (2009), and Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles (2012).
Tavia started her acting journey in 1999 after finishing acting classes at TVB, a big TV company. She first appeared in music videos and as an extra in TV shows. In 2003, she became well-known for her role in Vigilante Force. She won the TVB Anniversary Award for Most Improved Female Artiste award.
In 2008, Tavia became even more famous for her role in Moonlight Resonance. She won the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Supporting Actress award. In 2009, she played a tricky character in Beyond the Realm of Conscience. This role earned her the TVB Anniversary Award for My Favourite Female Character. Starting Out: 1999–2007
Tavia Yeung finished her acting training in 1999. She began by acting in music videos. Her first small roles were in shows like Justice Sung II. She played many small parts in series such as Street Fighters (2000).
Her first bigger role was in The Awakening Story (2001). She played the younger sister of the main character. She also had a supporting role in Eternal Happiness.
In 2003, Tavia had a big breakthrough as Kelly in Vigilante Force. She won the TVB Anniversary Award for Most Improved Female Artiste award that year. In 2004, she got a main role in The Vigilante in the Mask. Her popularity grew a lot with Twin of Brothers. Tavia continued to get many important roles. Theatre and Beyond: 2013–Present
After winning Best Actress in 2012, Tavia continued to play lead roles. She returned as Dr. Fan in The Hippocratic Crush II (2013). She also starred in Storm in A Cocoon (2014). In 2014, Tavia filmed Eye in the Sky. In this crime thriller, she played a private investigator with a special memory. She won My Favourite TVB Female TV Character for this role.
After filming Wudang Rules in 2014, Tavia worked on Momentary Lapse of Reason. This show was set in Hong Kong in the 1930s. In 2015, she filmed The Last Healer in Forbidden City. Tavia's contract with TVB ended in April 2016. She decided not to renew it.
Tavia made her first appearance in a stage play in January 2017. It was called I Have a Date with Spring. She also starred in the comedy play Oh My X 72 Tenants that same year. In 2018, Tavia worked with Roger Kwok again in the drama series Another Era. She played Hayley, a clever wife of a business leader. The show was praised for its strong cast and story. On October 26, 2020, Tavia shared on Instagram that she had changed her Chinese name to Yeung Sin-yiu. Her husband, Him Law, also changed his Chinese name. In December 2021, Tavia gave birth to a son.
