His Time with Funkadelic
Tawl Ross joined Funkadelic in 1968. Funkadelic was a groundbreaking band known for its mix of Funk, soul, and psychedelic rock. As the rhythm guitarist, Tawl Ross helped lay down the grooves. He played on their first three albums, which were very influential. These albums helped define the sound of psychedelic funk music. He left the band in 1971.
Life After Funkadelic
After leaving Funkadelic, Tawl Ross moved back to North Carolina. He took a long break from the music world. However, he returned in 1995 after almost 25 years. He released a solo album called a.k.a. Detrimental Vasoline - Giant Shirley. For this album, he used the name Tal Ross.
