Teal Alexander Bunbury (born February 27, 1990) is a professional soccer player. He plays as a forward for the Major League Soccer team Nashville SC. Teal was born in Canada. He later played for the United States national team.

Early Life and Family
Teal Bunbury was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His mother, Kristi Novak, is American. His father, Alex Bunbury, was also a professional soccer player. Alex played for the Canadian men's soccer team. He is one of Canada's most capped players.
Teal has an older sister, Kylie Bunbury, who is an actress. He also has two younger brothers, Logan and Mataeo. Mataeo is also a professional soccer player.
When Teal was two years old, his family moved to England. His father played soccer there for a short time. Then they moved to Portugal. When Teal was 10, his family moved to the United States. He has lived there ever since. He grew up in Prior Lake, Minnesota. He went to Shattuck-St. Mary's High School.
Club Career
College Soccer
Teal Bunbury started playing for Apple Valley Juventus. Then he played college soccer at the University of Akron. He played 48 games for the Akron Zips in 2008 and 2009. In his first year, he scored six goals.
In his second year, Teal became a star player. He scored 17 goals, leading his team and the nation. He also helped his team win five games. Teal won many awards that year. He was named the Mid-American Conference's Player of the Week three times. He also won the 2009 Hermann Trophy Award. This award goes to the best player in college soccer.
While in college, Teal also played for the Rochester Thunder. He played in the USL Premier Development League. He also played for the Chicago Fire Premier in the USL Super-20 League.
Professional Soccer
After two years of college, Teal decided to become a professional. He signed with Generation adidas. He was chosen fourth overall in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. This meant he would play for the Kansas City Wizards.
Teal played his first professional game on March 27, 2010. It was against D.C. United. He scored his first professional goal on April 13. This was in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game. His first MLS goal came on July 14 against Columbus Crew.
In 2010, Teal also trained with Premier League team Stoke City in England. He even scored in a practice match.
In August 2012, Teal had a serious injury. He tore a ligament in his knee. This kept him from playing for 10 months.
In February 2014, Teal joined the New England Revolution. He was traded for a draft pick and money. Teal helped the Revolution reach the 2014 MLS Cup Final. He scored an amazing goal in the Eastern Conference final. The Revolution lost the final game 2–1 after extra time.
Teal also helped the Revs reach the 2016 U.S. Open Cup Final. He scored two goals against the New York Cosmos. He scored another goal against the Chicago Fire. The Revs lost the final game to FC Dallas.
In 2018, Teal scored 11 goals for the Revs. This was the first time he scored double-digit goals in a season. He was the leading scorer for New England in the 2020 MLS Season. He was also named the club's Humanitarian of the Year. This award recognizes players who help their community.
On December 12, 2021, Teal was traded to Nashville SC. He continues to play for them today.
International Career
Teal Bunbury played for Canada's national U-17 and U-20 teams. He later decided to play for the United States national team. He earned his first cap for the United States on November 17, 2010. He scored his first international goal against Chile in 2011. It was from a penalty kick.
Personal Life
Teal Bunbury's father, Alex Bunbury, was a famous soccer player. He was a striker for the Canadian team. He is one of the top goal scorers for C.S. Marítimo in Portugal. Teal was the first son of a former MLS player to be drafted into the league.
In 2015, Teal married Kaity Maurer. They have two daughters together.
