Tebey Solomon Ottoh (born October 14, 1983), known simply as Tebey, is a Canadian-American singer. He writes and sings country music songs, but also writes for other music styles. His first song, "We Shook Hands (Man to Man)", reached number 47 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in the U.S. This was his only song to chart in America.
Tebey has written many songs for other artists. He also releases his own music. He has had seven songs reach the top ten on the Canada Country radio chart. One of these, "Who's Gonna Love You", even reached number one in 2018.

Early Life and Music Start
Tebey started singing in church when he was five years old. He then began to sing at local events. In 1990 and 1994, he won the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest for kids under 14. In 1996 and 1998, he won the contest for those under 18.
When he was 15, he signed a deal with a big record company in Nashville, Tennessee. He moved there with his father. His mother and siblings stayed in their home in Burlington, Ontario.
After three years, Tebey and his father moved back to Burlington. Tebey played high school football at Assumption Catholic High School. But his music career in Nashville started up again. In 2000, he signed with BNA Records as a singer. He also signed with Warner Chappell Music as a songwriter. Soon after, he got Bruce Allen as his manager.
Tebey's Music Career
In 2002 and 2003, Tebey's song "We Shook Hands (Man to Man)" became a hit on country radio. It was popular in both the United States and Canada. Tebey was featured on a CBC Radio show called Sounds Like Canada. In 2004, he was nominated for a Canadian Radio Music Award.
After this, Tebey returned to Canada. He became a professional songwriter for pop music, not just country. He wrote songs for many artists. These include Rex Goudie, Shawn Desman, and Melissa O'Neil. He also wrote a song for Big & Rich's album Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace. This album sold over a million copies.
As a country music artist, Tebey has had many hit songs in Canada. His songs "Somewhere In The Country" and "Till It's Gone" were Top 10 hits in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, Tebey covered Avicii's song "Wake Me Up". This version reached number 5 on the Canadian country radio chart. It sold over 40,000 copies and was certified Gold in Canada.
In 2014, Tebey signed a record deal with Road Angel Entertainment. This company is part of Warner Music Canada. In 2018, Tebey released "Denim on Denim". This was the first song from his album Love a Girl.
In 2019, Tebey started his own record company called Jayward Artist Group. He started it with Jill Snell. He signed himself and country artist Matt Lang to the new label. His third album, The Good Ones, came out in January 2021. It includes songs like "Good Jeans" and "Happened on a Saturday Night". It also has the song "The Good Ones", which is a duet with pop singer Marie-Mai.
In 2022, Tebey released "What Was I Drinking". This song was meant to be from an album called Tulum. The album was planned for late 2022 but did not come out. He kept releasing new songs. In January 2024, he released "Hold Your Horses". He then released a cover of The Weeknd's song "Blinding Lights".
Tebey as a Songwriter
Tebey is currently signed with BMG Music Publishing in Los Angeles. Many artists have recorded his songs. These include both country and pop singers. Some famous pop artists who have recorded his songs are One Direction, Flo Rida, Fifth Harmony, Cher, and The Veronicas.
On April 16, 2017, Tebey had his first number one song on the Billboard Country chart as a songwriter. His song "Somebody Else Will" became Justin Moore's eighth number one hit. He also had his first number one song on the Canada Country chart as a songwriter. This was with Gord Bamford's "Dive Bar" in 2018.
In 2007, Tebey signed a deal with Ole Media Management. He then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he lives now. Since 2008, Tebey has traveled often to Stockholm, Sweden, and Los Angeles. He goes there to write songs for different music styles.
In 2009, Tebey helped write the song "Cause A Scene" for Teairra Mari and Flo Rida. On September 11, 2011, Tebey had his first number one song in the UK as a songwriter. His song "All About Tonight", sung by Pixie Lott, reached number one. It sold over 88,000 copies. The song also topped the UK Radio Airplay Chart. It was nominated for Single of The Year at the 2012 Brit Awards.
In 2012, Tebey wrote and helped produce two songs for One Direction. These songs were "They Don't Know About Us" and "Loved You First". They are on One Direction's second album, "Take Me Home".
