William "Ted" Francis Buffalo (born November 5, 1901 – died August 19, 1969) was an American football player. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for one season in 1923. Ted was part of a special team called the Oorang Indians.

Ted Buffalo was born in Red Cliff, Wisconsin. He went to college at Haskell Indian Nations University. This university is known for its history of educating Native American students.
Playing in the NFL
In 1923, Ted Buffalo joined the Oorang Indians. This was a unique team in the National Football League. All the players on the Oorang Indians team were Native Americans. The team was based in LaRue, Ohio.
A very famous football player named Jim Thorpe was the coach of the Oorang Indians. Ted Buffalo played for one season in the NFL. He was a member of the Chippewa people. When he joined the team, he was 23 years old.
