Temple is a small town located in Cotton County, Oklahoma, United States. It is about 5 miles (8 km) south and 5 miles (8 km) east of Walters, which is the main town in the county.
In 2020, about 862 people lived in Temple. The town got its name from Temple Lea Houston, who was a famous lawyer in Texas and Oklahoma many years ago. He was the youngest son of General Sam Houston, a very important figure in Texas history.
