The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame is a special place in America. It celebrates amazing athletes, teams, coaches, sports writers, and leaders. They are all honored for their big impact on sports in the state of Tennessee. The Hall of Fame started in 1966. Since then, it has honored more than 500 people and groups!
How it Started
The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame began in 1966. It was created by the Middle Tennessee Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association. Today, the State of Tennessee helps manage it.
Where it's Located
The Hall of Fame was first in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was on the campus of the University of Tennessee. Later, it moved to Nashville, the state's capital city. You can find it inside the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.
Leadership
In 2016, David Blackburn was chosen as the president of the Hall of Fame. He helps lead the organization.
