Maria Teresa Saenz Surita (born on August 14, 1956) is a Brazilian politician. She is well-known for her work as the mayor of Boa Vista, Roraima. She also served as a Federal Deputy, which is like being a representative in the country's parliament.
Teresa Surita is very passionate about helping people. She focuses on social policies and protecting the human rights of children and teenagers. She believes every child deserves a safe and happy life.
She has a degree in tourism. Before becoming mayor again, she also worked for the government. From 2009 to 2010, she was the National Secretary of Urban Policies. This role was part of the Ministry of Cities under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
