The Terminalia hadleyana is a special kind of tree or shrub that grows in northern Australia. It belongs to a plant family called Combretaceae. This plant is known for losing its leaves every year, which means it is a deciduous tree.

What Does It Look Like?

This tree usually grows to be about 2 to 10 meters (around 6 to 33 feet) tall. Sometimes, it can even grow taller, reaching up to 15 meters (about 49 feet)! When it's time for flowers, usually between October and December, you'll see pretty cream-yellow blossoms.

Where Does It Grow?

The Terminalia hadleyana is found in different parts of northern Australia. You can see it in the Top End of the Northern Territory. It also grows all the way to the southeastern edge of the Gulf of Carpentaria in Queensland.

This tree often lives in open woodland areas. In Western Australia, especially in the Kimberley region, you'll find it in specific spots. It likes rocky places or floodplains. It grows well in sandy-clay soils that are on top of sandstone or limestone rocks.
